SPGG 9-Ball Trial Run. Friday 4th March 2-4pm. TIMING CHANGED

The trial is for me to see how long you guys actually play a race to 5 under tournament conditions. So I just need 8 people to really think hard & play their best. If you really need the pressure then we side bet $2 lor. Winner take $16. Free entry to GG 9-Ball Tournament. Simple.

We will be using tables 1-4.
Race 5 9-ball.
Play ur best dun come and give me heck care performance/attitude. If not chalet u go find nemo.

1stly. Brother Weng has left us to play hockey. & a sister will come in & take over his position. Monday we should all meet her =)

2ndly. SPGG 9-Ball Registration is already open. Please go & register at counter. Members are $16.05 cause of the GST. Maybe will try asking to scrap the GST if possible if not pay 5c like funny sia. We'll see.

3rdly Teen games pls direct & anything / problems / finding teams to linges / tagboard. Dont disturb me cause i'm busy with SPGG 9-ball already.

4thly Chalet!! Dunno what to say but 21st - 23rd March monday - wednesday. cfm liao. by wednesday the liqour should all be finish cuz of the results day on tuesday. =) For the year 3s we would be celebrating we graduate from SP! WAHAHAHAHAHA

Lastly I need About 8 volunteers after exam on 1 day. To trial run the timing for the SPGG 9-Ball. Will talk about that later on.

Opening Date For Registration is 5th March.
Closing Date For Registration is 30th March.
Registration to be done @ Singapore Polytechnic Graduate's Guild Counter.

Day 1 Format:
4 Groups of 8 players. Double Elimination. Top 4 From Each Group Qualify For Final Day.
9-Ball Race to 5. Alternate Break.

Day 2 Format
16 Players. Single Knockout.

Last 16 - Race 6.
Q-Final Race - 7
Semi-Final - Race 8
Final - Race 9

Prizes:
Yet to be Finalized. Prize Pool will be about $400 Based on 32 Players. Will increase if more people join.

Note:
If you guys join, I would really try to split up everybody. So that you will not face each other in the 1st few rounds. I dun wish to have all 32 players be from SPGG. If not abit no point to have this competition.

If there is an overflow of players which I think will have high chance if RP SP & SPGG just send 10 players each. Of course prize $ May increase. Currently the prizes I intend to get is
1st Place $250 Voucher from Q-Shop
2nd Place $100 Voucher from Q-Shop
3rd Place $50 Voucher from Q-Shop

Hopefully can also get them to sponser then may have additional prizes also.

Also we may stretch the timing of play if this happens we have to discuss with the new girl that is going to replace tuck weng. See what we can work out.

I know some of you people still come to blog during your rest time when you are studying. So let me update it once in awhile to let u all read some stories / qoutes get inspired to train / play.

So When you lose a match, Dun go thinking that you suck & no talent. Everybody has lost a match before. Even most of our idols, Efren , Bustamante , Alex pagulayan , Appleton, have at least lost 100 matches before in their entire career. The only difference between them & us is that when they lose, they train harder to come back stronger so that they wont lose again.

Who does'nt want to be the top of the batch u tell me? Who does'nt want to be the best in SP? I'm sure many of us wants to the best in SP. Likewise in GG. What's the difference between the better players & the worser players? We got no secret method / Ritual / Daily routine we do. We just put in more time to practice SERIOUSLY AND PROPERLY than the others(LIKE DONT FOOL AROUND LIKE SOME1)

A few good example of ice creams becoming ice cream cone is Ah Lee & Louis. Just that they got abit of screwed up mentality only but I dun see anyone putting in more practice time than Louis. Ah Lee has only 2 days to train. But u will see him every Tuesday & Friday at the pool hall playing until he die.

To the rest, Mindset & Confidence & overcoming pressure are most of the things you need in this game. Without these 2, No matter how good your run / idea / cue / break cue / your girlfrend look, you will still be an ice cream.

Thoughts on SMU Friendly.

Well even though we won 7-5. I just feel that we could have done better. Like way better. Besides SMU team 1. I think the rest of the teams were like sure can win one. I dun see how you guys could'nt win them. Many of us struggled like hell today. But hope you guys learnt something.

For now lets all just focus on the test & exams coming. Good luck & study smart.

OK Rough Idea how the $_$ will be settled. $4/Person. Girls dont need to pay cause they are doing us a big favour by helping us play already (Who ask our pool team no girls at all)

The 1st Placed Team & 1st SP Placed Team will be used as a guage. So that means that any teams coming inbetween the 2 teams will not pay the table charge.

EXAMPLE 1.
1. SP 1
2. SP 2
3. SMU 1
4. SMU 2
So that means that SP 1 SP 2 and SMU 1 need not pay the table cost. The table cost of $100 will be shared by the remaining 5 teams.

Example 2.
1. SP 1
2. SMU 1
3. SP 2
4. SP 3

So that means only SP 1 & SMU 1 need not pay the table cost. The remaining $100 will be shared by 6 teams.

MOST IDEAL CASE SCENARIO
1. SP 1
2. SP 2
3. SP 3
4. SP 4
5. SMU 1

So means SMU 2,3,4 Will tank the table fees. SP no need pay. Everybody get their $4 refund.

Fair enough?? Or any other ideas? This way it really makes you all fight like hell. & Quite fair if you can really out perform the other school =)

Table cost will be $100 divided by no. of teams needed to pay minus the $4 initially paid
